IC Summer School Information

The IC Summer School 2017 is offered for 2 weeks, at the Psychico campus of the College. The program is in English with workshops in Computing, Technology, Science, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Humanities, Business, Media, and Social Media, developed for 13-18 year old students (grade 7 - grade 12). You can view the IC Summer School 2017 workshop descriptions for the full list of available topics this year.

The aim of the IC Summer School is to develop skills fundamental for tomorrow’s careers in an enjoyable learning environment, through the guidance of professionals and distinguished academics from European, American, and Australian Institutions. The IC Summer School is organized for the 6th year by the Informatics Center (IC) of the Hellenic American Educational Foundation (HAEF).

All workshops are limited to a small number of students (on average 15 students), which allows for ample attention and interaction with the instructor and classmates. The workshops are either project-based or include hands-on work, research and teamwork, which makes participation highly interactive and intellectually stimulating. To maximize the benefit of participation to teamwork, we require that all students register for the full two-week program.  All students that are graduating grade 7 to grade 12 are eligible to register for the IC Summer School.

The IC Summer School’s mission is to develop skills fundamental for preparing young people for tomorrow’s careers, through the guidance of eminent industry professionals and distinguished academics. Students will be exposed to the latest technological advances and artistic trends and gain long lasting experiences. The IC Summer School is based on the cultivation of teamwork, initiative-taking and innovation. By the end of the program, the students will have participated in three to four subjects and will have delivered a project for each subject. At the same time, they will be introduced to the basics of project management and effective communication combined with team sports and entertainment activities on the Psychico campus.

Again this year, six scholarships will be offered to public school students, who are strongly attracted to technology and the subject areas of the IC Summer School, are in excellent academic standing, and have proven financial need.
