Australia’s Ambassador to Greece Visits College

An event in honor of the Ambassador of Australia to Greece, Ms. Kate Logan, was held on Monday, October 15 in the College Theater.  The event was prompted by the success of the academic activity, “Melbourne-Athens: A Journey of Friendship” as well as the recent visit by Psychico College High School students to the Embassy of Australia.

Welcoming speeches were given by College President, Mr. Richard Jackson, and Co-Director of Athens College and Coordinator of the HAEF Schools, Mr. Apostolos Athanasopoulos, who noted that it was a great honor to have the official representative of Australia to Greece visit our School.

Ambassador Logan referred to the long-standing friendship between the two countries, which continues to this day, and expressed pleasure with the “Melbourne-Athens: A Journey of Friendship” program.

Students who participated in the program during academic year 2017-2018 spoke of their experiences as mentors to peers who attend schools that are part of the Hellenic community of Melbourne while airing a video with highlights from their activity.

During her visit to the College, the Ambassador was escorted by Pres. R. Jackson, Mr. Apostolos Athanasopoulos, Mr. Apostolos Doxiadis – Vice President of the HAEF Board of Directors, Ms. Eleni Tzarou – Head of Year 1 of the International Baccalaureate Program, and Ms. Alexandra Aivalioti – Head of Marketing and Communication.

This was followed by a campus tour by students of our School.
