Three College Students on 2017 National Informatics Teams

Following their outstanding achievements in the 3rd Round of the 29th PanHellenic Informatics Competition and their performance in the Preparation Camp for the Selection of the National Informatics Team Members, three HAEF students were selected to join the National Informatics Teams.  The Preparation Camp took place May 2 – 5, 2017 at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA.


Dimitrios Rontogiannis, Athens College High School 10th grader, and Ioannis Tyrovolas, Psychico College International Baccalaureate Yr1 student, were selected as regular members of the 4-member 2017 National Informatics Team that will represent Greece at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2017) and the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (BOI 2017).  The International Olympiad in Informatics will be held in Teheran, Iran from July 28 to August 4, 2017, whilst the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova, from July 2 to July 8, 2017.


It is worth mentioning that Ioannis Tyrovolas ranked 1st in the nationwide selection process for the National Informatics Team.


Ninth grade Athens College Junior High School student, Athanasios Taprantzis, who was selected to join the 4-member Junior National Informatics Team 2017, will represent Greece in two international events as well: in the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics  (JBOI 2017) and the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI 2017) that will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from September 7 to September 14, 2017.
