New Seminars on Student Life

Within the context of the Teachers Training Teachers program, two new seminars, one about the impact of a good night’s rest on students’ emotional and academic development and the other about students with High-Functioning Autism (Asperger), will be held on Saturday, November 3rd in the College Library on the Psychico campus.

The first is titled Raising children that are tired: Could perhaps a lack of sufficient and quality sleep be related to emotional as well as academic issues?’ The presenter is Dr. A. Kazakakou, M.Ed. Special Education, Ed.M. Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, Psychico College Elementary School Psychologist. (11.00-13.20)

The second seminar is titled “Children and Adolescents with High-Functioning Autism (Asperger) and their school integration.”  Various psychological theories that explain high-functioning autism will be presented together with instructions on how to best help these children/adolescents adapt to the classroom environment.  The presenter is Dr. P. N. Siaperas, M.Sc., Ph.D., Athens College Psychologist-Occupational Therapist, Research Associate – Instructor at the University of Athens & University of the Peloponnese. (13.30-16.00)
