Book Activities

The Kindergarten Library is part of the educational program of the Kindergarten and is included in the students’ timetable.  During Library time, a variety of activities aimed at accustoming students with reading as well as helping them to develop research and critical thinking skills take place.  With books as the focal point, fairy tale reading and Library Diary provide children with an opportunity to express themselves creatively, to think and to have fun. Each child’s Library Diary, whose cover page has been drawn by the child him/herself, is a log of all the books read during Library time and those borrowed whilst a Kindergarten student  Activities based on drawing, writing, arithmetic and crafts are carried out in the Library, as well as at home with parents’ assistance.  The Diary, in addition to being a lovely keepsake, serves as the foundation on which children formulate explicit attitudes towards reading and books.
