1st Prize to Athens College High School Students in the PanHellenic Student Competition to Select National Teams for the 15th European Union Science Olympiad – EUSO 2017

For the second consecutive year, the Athens College High School team took 1st place in the PanHellenic Student Competition EUSO. The 1st Prize was awarded to our School’s EUSO team, comprised of 11th grade students Aikaterini Gkrintzia, Panagiotis Makris, Velissarios Christodoulou and Ioannis Kaklamanis (alternate member), in the final round of the 9th PanHellenic Student Competition on January 28, 2017.  The EUSO team will be one of the two that will represent Greece at the 15th European Union Science Olympiad EUSO 2017 that will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from May 7 to May 14, 2017.


The students, accompanied at the Competition by Mr. Vasileios Karamaounas, amassed the greatest cumulative score in Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratory tests.  The students had been coached by faculty members Mr. Vasileios Karamaounas in Physics, Ms. Vasiliki Arapaki in Chemistry and Ms. Dimitra Alexaki, Ms. Ourania Moschona and Ms. Nikoletta-Anna Kyragianni in Biology, assisted by Laboratory Assistants Mr. Nikolaos Kogias and Mr.Ioannis Kolympiris.
