Athens College High School students have at their avail the services of the Counseling and Career Office whose purpose is to support school objectives through the provision of specialized services to students, parents, and teachers.

The main goal of this service is to support our School’s students in coping with the academic demands of High School as well as with their interpersonal relationships. This goal is achieved by offering individual counseling on matters related to school life, time and study management, as well as emotional difficulties.  Students’ parents may also avail themselves of the Counseling services, as parental cooperation is essential in resolving students’ problems.

Qualified Counselors and Psychologists collaborate with students’ parents, the Administration and Faculty members, as well as with professionals from various sectors, academicians and College alumni who are currently university students in order to bring students into direct contact with persons from the professional and academic world.

More specifically, the Counseling Office provides: (a) Career Aptitude and Vocational Interest Testing for 15-16 year-olds and (b) a 3-6 week Summer Internship Program for 15-18 year-olds.  Additionally, it organizes a Career Day for 10th and 11th graders, whereby professionals in the Sciences, business executives, and officials are invited to speak to students about their respective sector and occupation.
