All students
at Athens College and Psychico College sit the following exams:
The Grade 6
Placement Test
At the end of
Grade 6, all students at Athens College and Psychico College sit a
placement test. The results form part of the assessment evidence
used to place students in appropriate academic programs in the
Gymnasium or Middle School.
The Grade 6
English Test administered and scored by computer
At the end of
Grade 6, all students at Athens College and Psychico College sit a
computer adaptive test in English.
The test, devised by Cambridge ESOL, presents results in
terms of the Common European Framework.
This assessment information
provides feedback to the English teachers in the Athens College and
Psychico College Elementary Schools as well as assessment evidence
for use in placing students in the first year of the Gymnasium or
Middle School.
The
Institutional TOEFL
The
Institutional TOEFL is currently administered to all Grade 12 (3rd
Lykeio) students at
Athens College and Psychico College in October of each academic
year. The Institutional
TOEFL has the same format as the official paper-based version of the
TOEFL and consists of
three parts – listening comprehension, structure and written
expression, and reading.
Students get formal copies of their score reports, valid for
informational and assessment purposes only.
The official TOEFL is the English language test required of
all international students by US universities and is accepted as a
language qualification by all UK universities.
