The Jr. Forensics program
introduces
Gymnasium students to the basic skills needed for all six
Forensics activities, with a special emphasis on Duet Acting and
Oral Interpretation
Jr.
Forensics is an excellent
outlet for imaginative students who enjoy acting,
speaking, and
movement. Students who participate will:
-
gain confidence speaking in
front of an audience
-
express themselves in
creative ways
-
improve their English
speaking skills
-
enjoy using their English in
creative and fun activities
Two highlights of the Jr. Forensics Program are the
after-school Workshop
and the Inter-School
Jr. Forensics Tournament.
Jr.
Forensics Workshop
The Junior
Forensics Workshop is an innovative after-school program
designed especially for 1st and 2nd Gymnasium students.
Through dramatic games and activities, students learn
how to use voice, facial expression, gesture, and
body movement as dramatic tools. In this workshop,
Gymnasium students acquire the basic dramatic and
rhetorical skills needed for all Forensics activities.

Jr.
Forensics Tournament
During
Panigyri, Jr. Forensics
members have the opportunity to compete in the
inter-school Jr.Forensics Tournament, a friendly competition designed to
give
Athens College and Psychico College Gymnasium students a
feel
for what an actual PFA Tournament is like.
By
participating in the Jr. Tournament, Gymnasium students
increase their public
communication skills, develop realistic and healthy
attitudes
toward competition, learn how to accept constructive
criticism and be judged on their performance and most
importantly the participants have a lot of fun
performing in front of an audience.
