Collegiada Dedicated to Books

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the 2nd Collegiada titled “The Role of Spiritual and Mental Processes in Writing,” dedicated to Books, took place in Choremi Auditorium.  Four top writers and College alumni, Nikos Dimou (’54), Giorgos Mavrogordatos (x63), Tefkros Michailidis (’73) and Christos Chomenidis (’85) each discussed and analyzed their own complex, and oftentimes painful, process of conceiving and writing a book.

The speakers did not fail to mention their own particular relationship with the College, stirring up memories that indirectly or directly helped them to turn towards writing.

Moderator of the event was Athens College teacher, Socrates Kougeas.  Meanwhile, College President Richard Jackson and Director of the College Libraries, Alexandra Papazoglou, gave the welcoming speeches and opening remarks.

The event is part of the College’s 2018-2019 tribute to: “Books and their vital importance to the long-standing spiritual and educational traditions of the College.”
