4th PanHellenic Educational Conference at the College

The School Life and Education Museum of the National Centre of Research & Preservation of School Material, together with the Hellenic Educational Society and Athens College, co-organized the 4th PanHellenic Conference titled “Education in the 21st Century: School and Culture.” The three-day Conference was held on May 10-12, 2019 in Choremi Auditorium and Benaki Hall classrooms under the aegis of the Presidency of the Republic and the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union.

 

 

Education officials, teachers of all disciplines, university students studying pedagogy and other education stakeholders attended lectures and parallel sessions on the pedagogically important and correlative relationship between School and Culture.

 

Apostolos Athanasopoulos, Co-Director of Athens College and Coordinator of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation School Units, Christos Konstantopoulos, Director of Athens College High School, Anastasia Papakostopoulou, Director of Psychico College High School and Alexandra Papazoglou, Director of the HAEF Libraries were members of the Organizing Committee of the Conference.

 

During the opening ceremony on Friday, May 10th, College President Richard Jackson and Mr. Athanasopoulos gave welcoming addresses.  The event was embellished by the College Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dimitris Papagiannakis. Stefanos Tsokakis, Interschool Head of Music, curated the musical program.
