Operation of School Units on Psychico Campus Suspended Until March 24th

March 9, 2020 (21:00)

Dear Parents / Dear Colleagues,

Following official information from the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs*, I wish to advise you that by Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of Health and Education - further to recommendations from the National Public Health Organization (EODY) - operation of the school units and other activities on the Psychico campus (Athens College Junior High – High Schools, Psychico College Junior High – High Schools “J.M. Carras” Kindergarten) are suspended up to and including March 24, 2020 for precautionary reasons.

In response to a written briefing sent to EODY from our School regarding the relationship between students and employees on both our Psychico and Kantza campuses, there is no reason – according to EODY – to suspend operation of our Elementary Schools for precautionary reasons.

Please be advised that in the secondary school units affected by the suspension in operation, students and their teachers will immediately begin using the ManageBac and CMS platforms to exchange information and files.  We are also looking at adopting distance learning using modern tools of communication.  Regarding the latter, we will revert with more information.

* confirmed by the Ministry of Education, as different information was mistakenly posted on its website

Yours truly,

Apostolos Athanasopoulos
Co-Director of Athens College
Coordinator of the HAEF School Units
