Instructions to Children and Adolescents who remain at home

As the situation in Greece is evolving and new cases of coronavirus are emerging, some of whose origin cannot be determined, guidelines and practices are being adapted to meet new needs.  This means that ALL of us should be extremely vigilant regardless of whether we know the person next to us is a confirmed case or not.

Below are instructions sent by the National Public Health Organization for children and adolescents remaining at home.

To ensure that there is a continuation in the educational process, College school units have already deployed student-teacher communication platforms (CMS, ManageBac, E-quizzes). With the help of our School’s I.T. Department, our school units are preparing modern student-teacher communication procedures, which will be launched with senior class students (12th graders).   Additional information will be forthcoming very soon.

Instructions from the National Public Health Organization to children and adolescents who remain at home:

· Avoid meetings and congregations anywhere (e.g. cafes, cinemas)

· Avoid extra-curricular activities involving groups of people

· Discourage meetings at friends’ homes, restaurants or malls

· Ensure/endorse distance-learning activities (e-learning)

· Avoid contact with persons who have chronic health conditions and/or belong to vulnerable health groups

· Wash hands often and thoroughly using soap and water or an alcohol hand sanitizer

· Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.  Immediately dispose of the used tissue in a trash bin.  If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

· Avoid close contact (hand-shaking, hugging and kissing)

· Avoid contact with persons who have symptoms of infection

· In case of symptoms, stay at home and contact a doctor or the National Public Health Organization (EODY)
