Concert: Children are the HOPE (“ELPIDA”) for the Future

A moving, musical event to support the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “ELPIDA” was held on the evening of Saturday, February 2nd in the College Theater, drawing a full house. Young and old showed up at the concert titled “Children are the Hope for the Future,” sending a loud message that all together we can support the children of “ELPIDA.”

The concert featured the College Junior High – High School Choir, the College Symphony Orchestra and the Athens State Orchestra which enthralled the audience by presenting in absolute harmony works from a wide gamut of composers ranging from Michael Jackson and Manos Hadjidakis to Karl Jenkins and Beethoven.

 

Mr. Konstantinos Romanos-Papazoglou directed the Athens State Orchestra, while Mr. Dimitris Papagiannakis the College Symphony Orchestra.  

 

College President, Mr. Richard Jackson, and the President of the HAEF Board of Directors, Mr. Nikolas Tsavliris, offered greeting speeches; the latter pointing out the importance of the work carried out by the “ELPIDA” Association.  On behalf of ELPIDA, the Association’s President, Mrs. Marianna Vardinogianni, thanked the College for showing its support for the efforts of the organization yet again.
