The Arts - Aesthetic Teaching

At "John M. Carras” Kindergarten, the Arts are part of the daily teaching process, as in recent years they have become a significant innovation in pre-school education. Music, theater games, visual arts, dance and movement are used as instruments to achieve different goals in all learning areas. Through the Arts, students practice their skills and are motivated to learn.  They are empowered and encouraged to be innovative, to express their thoughts and feelings in a unique way, but also to observe and describe their aesthetic experience when listening to music or when looking at a painting.  Thus, the Arts also contribute to the development of symbolic communication. Lastly, students are trained in multiple literacies and develop their creative and critical thinking skills.
