Psychico College High School’s Young Entrepreneurs Club Wins “Best Virtual Company 2019” Prize

The final round of the “Best Virtual Company 2019” Competition, organized by Junior Achievement Organization / Association Youth Entrepreneurship (JA-YE), was held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Megaron Athens Concert Hall.

Psychico College High School’s virtual company “Saveat” justly won first place and will represent our nation at the Junior Achievement Europe competition that will be held in Lille, France from 2 to 5 July, 2019.

The prize was awarded to our School’s students by Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, President of the Hellenic Republic, under whose auspices the student program “Virtual Business 2019” is run.

The College actively supports the value of “Excellence” and as such, enables and will continue to enable all students to showcase their abilities and stand out for their achievements.  Thus, they can one day become useful and competent citizens.

The virtual enterprise conceived and created by Psychico College High School is an online platform aimed at eliminating food waste.  By helping supermarkets track products about to expire, it enables supermarkets to put those products on sale in order to entice shoppers to buy them before their expiration. Five days before the expiration date, products that have not sold are donated to charities for immediate consumption.

Warm congratulations to the students and the Club’s Advisors-Teachers: Athanasios Karamitsas, Eleni Markopoulou and Panagiotis Statiris.
